Mainly because the first time I saw Ryuko Matoi I instantly thought of the edge-hog
Set between Sonic Colors and Sonic Lost World, Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club tells the story of the Wisps as they find themselves as humans on Earth without their memory. Together they will form a swimming club, forge friendships, defeat their rivals, and most importantly, find their way home to Planet Wisp.
Lost Worlds, eh?
The gameplay looks and sounds pretty cool, no doubt. Something about two run buttons?
But I kinda have mixed feelings about the artstyle. I guess you could chalk it up to a different, gravity defying world and trying to look like the old games in 3D, but I actually prefer the semi-realism they had in Unleashed/Colors/Generations. Adventure/2 of course was way too realistic, and Heroes was on its way to finding that equilibrium, and Unleashed struck it. It was beautiful. Generations did a fine reimagining of the worlds, too.
This just looks oversimplified, and reminds me too much of Mario Galaxy (which is a good game, but still). Maybe we haven’t seen enough of the game yet. I dunno.
The villains are great though.
A mashup about a panda, a pair of demons and the socks they wear.
